Other Doctors/TrainingThis Practice is a training practice and as such hosts doctors and other health professional students at various levels of training. GP Registrar A GP Registrar is a fully qualified doctor with at least 3 years of hospital experience, who is training to be a GP. They will treat most patients independently. ITP - Integrated Training Post This is a fully qualified doctor with at least 2 years training in hospital, who may not want to be a GP. They will see patients but seek advice if necessary. Foundation Doctor The foundation doctor is a fully qualified doctor with 1 year of hospital experience who may or may not want to be a GP. They will see patients but will seek advice if necessary. Medical Students Students will be in their final years of training to become a doctor and are therefore not qualified. They will see patients independently but the patient will always be seen by a doctor or nurse as well. This is an invaluable part of medical students training and hope you will agree to see one of these students if asked. Nurse Practitioner Students Are experienced registered nurses who will tend to be in their final year of advanced training to become a nurse practitioner. They can see and treat patients independently but may discuss or ask a doctor or the nurse practitioner to see patients if necessary. |
